'They're the heart and soul of this club': Legion inspiring Brown to tame Tigers

Coming off a heart-stopping win, the Gold Coast look to draw off the inspiration and motivation of the loyal Legion during their Round 8 match against the West Tigers in their inaugural clash at Cbus Super Stadium.

Titan #1 Karina Brown is especially eager to play in front of a vocal home crowd, who inspire her each time she gets the opportunity to play at Robina.

“The members are the heart and soul of this club and it’s great when all they are all out there cheering for us," she told titans.com.au.

"All the little girls and boys coming to get signatures after the game is really motivating and inspiring to be part of that and to have them apart of the journey as well.

“We just can’t wait to celebrate the members and thank them for their support and everything they do for us.

This week’s match will prove as a test run of what a home final could feel like, after being announced last Friday that the top two teams will host a home semi-final.

“You always want to have the home ground advantage to help get you over the line, especially if it comes down to the wire, which semi-final footy normally does," Brown said.

Having to win at least two, if not all of their last 3 games of the season to ensure a top two finish, the Titans will be working towards bringing a semi-final back home to the Coast.

“It would be incredible to get a semi-final at home, we played in the semi’s a few years ago but it was away and we lost that game," she said.

The Gold Coast are in their final preparations to take on the inconsistent Tigers and despite the loss of key International and co-captain in Kezie Apps, Brown insists that this week will be spent focusing on themselves - something that has been consistent across the entire - season as the home side looks to produce a brand of footy that the members will be proud of.
