Jayden Campbell has revealed there may be a few nerves for the pre-season under Des Hasler as he returns to Titans HQ for day one under the new coach on Monday.
The most senior Gold Coast player to be back training when it resumes with a number of the younger squad members and train-and-triallists, the 23-year-old is glad the holiday period is over, but is anticipating the intensity level to rise tenfold with the two-time premiership-winning mentor in-charge.
"I'm excited but scared at the same time," Campbell admitted.
"Hopefully having someone like Des who will be hard on the boys will help us get a lot better.
"But I've missed training to be honest... sitting at home doing nothing, you get a little bit bored so I'm glad we're coming back."

His elation to be returning to Parkwood comes as the 43-gamer signals his intentions to regain the No. 1 jersey full-time in the new year after spending this season as a versatile utility, playing not only at fullback but in the centres and halves at different stages.
Whilst complimentary of his opportunity to play across the backline which has given him a greater understanding of what each position needs, Campbell feels it's at the back that best suits him as a dynamic live-wire.
"With the new coach, I've got to come to training and do my best and prove that I'd like to play fullback," he said.
"Growing up, fullback was my main position and I feel like that's my best position
"I feel that's where I play my best, so I'd like to lock that spot down."
But should Hasler opt for the son of a gun to play a different role in the Titans 17, he will be more than happy to put the team first to help in order to lift that Provan Summons trophy for the first time.
"Wherever the team needs me I'll play," Campbell said.
"Whilst I'd like to play fullback, wherever the team needs me, I'll play there.
"I'd love to bring a premiership to the Gold Coast, so wherever they need me to play for that to happen, I'll do it."
