White joins new-look Blues coaching staff

The Gold Coast will boast another Origin representative in 2024 with the appointment of Titans assistant Brett White to the New South Wales coaching staff.

The former Blues enforcer who played eight games for his state from 2007-2010 will join Michael Maguire's team of mentors for the upcoming Origin series, as announced by the NSWRL on Thursday.

The former 196-game forward's appointment follows a recent stint with the Australian Kangaroos at the Pacific Championships as an assistant coach to Mal Meninga after joining the Titans' coaching ranks in 2023.

White is thrilled to be returning to the Origin arena and can't wait to reconnect with Maguire, who he played under during his time at the Storm.

"I'm super excited about my appointment," he said.

"I'm really excited to connect back up with Madge... I spent a bit of time with him down in Melbourne and I'm really excited about where he wants to take the Blues into the future.

"Origin is the pinnacle of our game and to get back there and be part of it, especially being part of a new direction that Madge wants to take it is really exciting.

"It's going to be great to be part of that."
