250 reasons to celebrate for Titans Iceman

It's a massive milestone for Isaac Liu this weekend, with the Titans prop joining an elite club by notching 250 NRL games.

After playing nine seasons and over 200 games at the Sydney Roosters, winning a premiership, the experience forward is now entering his third season on the Gold Coast.

After injury cruelled his attempt to reach the milestone late last season, the 32-year-old says he is pleased that he get's the chance to celebrate the achievement in front of a home crowd.

"I would have loved to play that last round, but I've said before that if I'm not 100 per cent then I'm not going to go out there and put in a half game," Liu said.

"I want to make sure I'm fit and ready for the team."

Liu will join AJ Brimson (100 NRL games) and Brian Kelly (100 Titans games) as those notching milestones in round one, while Keenan Palasia will also make his Titans debut.

Asked how he will feel about reaching the 250 mark, Liu praised his team-mates.

"I'll be proud," he said.

"I'm proud to be playing here at the Titans, especially with this group they're a good bunch of boys and I'm proud to be playing here."

While Titans team-mates were quick to record messages of support, so too were Liu's former team-mates at the Roosters where he is still held in high regard.

Expecting a tough first-up clash against the Dragons, Liu says all of the forward pack are ready to set the tone in front of a strong Cbus Super Stadium crowd.

"I'm happy to get out there and put a good performance out there," he said.

"Whatever role we are put in I'm sure we will fit in all together."

It's season number 12 for Liu, and despite having achieved plenty in a decorated career, he says he's not planning on slowing up just yet.

"I played school footy here and it is good to be back and I want to make some history here and create some success," he said.

Asked by journalists whether that meant playing on into 2025 and beyond, he had a simple answer.

"I hope so, all I can do is just play consistent footy and good footy for this team."
