Gold Coast Titans CEO Steve Mitchell has declared the Titans season officially open at Cbus Super Stadium today.
Ahead of a blockbuster clash with the St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday night, the Titans boss says the energy from Las Vegas will be flowing into round 1 this week.
"I think hopefully we can bring a fair bit of energy from the (United) States back here and get us into round one this weekend," Mitchell said.
"We can't wait (to play), it is great to be home, and you can't help but bring over some of the energy that came out of the TVs and on the ground in Las Vegas.
"Then I think just to capture the hearts and minds with the way that our American launch through Vegas and the activations around there has captured families and brought them back and got them excited."
The clash will see two head coaches take the reins of their new clubs for the first time with Des Hasler leading the Titans and Shane Flanagan the Dragons.
"It is Des Hasler's Titans debut at Cbus, so everyone is looking forward to that," he said.
"They (coaches) have put a lot of wok in and the player roster have been through a very tough pre-season and they are excited to go on Saturday night."
It is a nigh of milestones for the Titans and Mitchell said there is plenty of reason for the team to be up and about come Saturday.
"From a milestone point of view it is really important game for us to recognise AJ's (Brimson) 100th game with the club, his only NRL club, BK's (Brian Kelly) 100th game with the club and Isaac Liu is playing 250th NRL game, which is pretty cool," Mitchell enthused.
"Plus it is Keenan's (Palasia) debut this weekend and there are a lot of reasons to play for."
"We get to a point where you are fatigued with summer a little bit and people are ready for the footy to start again."
If that isn't enough reasons to have every red-blooded Titans and NRL fan ready for Saturday night, Mitchell said the off-field action would be just as electric.
"We are really looking forward to a great day this Saturday and a big crowd and really strong start to our home season," he said.
"Beyond the footy, one of my favourite precinct activations is the Airtime FMX boys and they will be out here (on the precinct) doing all sorts of tricks and backflips and I am sure there will be a crowd of 4,000-5,000 people enjoying that before they head into the game.
"Then, when Leagueabilty starts again as the curtain-raiser, it is as big as it has ever been.
"People want a reason to believe and there is high hopes in regard to what Des and Tino (Fa'asuamaleaui) and his senior playing group and wider roster can actually do this year - we are on for season 2024, cant wait!"
