Round 7 team: Sami set for return in Sea Eagles showdown
Titans flyer Phil Sami is expected to overcome his syndesmosis injury and don the No. 1 jersey for the Gold Coast's Round 7 clash against the Manly Sea Eagles at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday night.
A position he's no stranger to having made five appearances at fullback to begin the 2020 season, the return of the 111-gamer will keep AJ Brimson in the halves alongside Kieran Foran after the pair combined as playmakers to almost edge out the Raiders in a controversial golden-point finish on Sunday night in Canberra.
Sami replaces Jayden Campbell who will be sidelined after succumbing to a knee injury in the 64th minute of that match; the swap the only change to the 17 that lined up in the nation's capital at the weekend.
Against Des Hasler's former team, the Titans will be aiming for three wins in a row against the Sea Eagles after triumphs in both 2022 and 2023, including the last time the pair met at Robina.
Kick-off is at 5.30pm on Saturday at Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast.
