Titans eyeing fast finish to the regular season

With finals spots up for grabs, the Titans Sapphire and Ruby Series sides are targeting a big finish over the closing rounds of the competition.

With three rounds left before finals, the Titans Sapphire Series side sits second and  the Ruby Series squad third, with the top-four sides to play finals.

With a strong 6-3 record from nine games, Titans Sapphire face three tough tests coming into the finals with games against Sunshine Coast Thunder, the table topping Ipswich Jets and defending champions the ACU Brisbane North Cougars.

Ipswich sit six points clear at the top of the table, but are yet to lock up top spot, with the jostle for positions important as teams try to grab the double chance in week one of the finals.

In the Ruby Series competition, Carina Leagues Club Tigers sit top of the table having dropped just the one game from their 11 starts.  The Titans sit third with a 8-3 record and are three wins clear of the fourth placed Ipswich Jets.

One win over the last three rounds would secure a finals position for the Titans, however the focus is on catching the second placed Cougars who sit just one win above the Gold Coast side.

A second placed finish would ensure a double chance in week one of the finals, meaning the side's clash in the final round of competition could prove vital.

The Titans Sapphire Series side takes to the court at 4pm on Sunday at Nissan Arena, with the Ruby Series side to follow at 6pm with both sides to play the Sunshine Coast Thunder.
