New Titan Gordon grateful to begin training early

Titans new recruit Carter Gordon has begun his rugby league journey early, commencing training this week after being granted a release from the remainder of his Rugby Australia contract.

The 23-year-old will be part of Gold Coast's extended squad this season before joining the club's top 30 roster in 2025, which will give the former Wallabies fly-half a chance to adapt to rugby league and train alongside his new teammates.

Gold Coast coach Des Hasler says it’s great to have the opportunity to start working with Gordon this season.

"He's now started his integration and trained with us this morning as he begins his development and education... but we're not going to rush him," Hasler told media after taking the field for the first time.

"It's certainly beneficial for him and the team in the long run."

Completing his first training session on Wednesday, the former Wallabies fly-half is grateful for the chance to begin his rugby league transition early in readiness for 2025.

"It's exciting to be joining early and I'm really eager to come in with an open mind and learn from the squad who have been playing rugby league their whole lives," Gordon told titans.com.au.

"This game is something I've always been interested in, so I'm excited to begin the transition and to get the chance to start training early is something I'm really grateful for."
