Trial 1 team: Fresh and familiar faces named for pre-season hit-out

Nine new faces will wear Titans NRLW colours for the first time when the Gold Coast travel to Cairns to face the Cowboys on Sunday morning.

In the club's pre-season trial, which will see the two sides play for the inaugural Breayley-Nati - Hoepper Shield, Karyn Murphy has turned to youth for the contest, resting four Origin stars for the trip north.

But, the Gold Coast coach will cast her eye over halves pairing Taliah Fuimaono and Lauren Brown who are in action together for the first time; the former getting her chance to impress in Titans colours since missing all but one game of last year's season due to an ankle injury.

The hit-out will also see a number of mainstays trialling new positions with Queensland representative Emily Bass named at fullback; whilst Niall Williams-Guthrie will start in the back-row.

Kick-off is at 11.30am on Sunday at Alley Park, Gordonvale.
