Clark reveals secret behind Titans resurgence

Following their third win in a row last Saturday, the Titans have found their form at a crucial time as they head into the business end of the NRL season.

After starting the year off on the wrong foot, the past month has seen a season revival, and their three-game win streak has shown a level of consistency that gives many Gold Coast fans hope for the rest of the year.

Fan favourite Erin Clark spoke to ABC Sport after their Eels win about what has changed in the Titans side to help turn their season around.

"We've simplified our game; to get three in a row is something we haven't done in a while and Dessie (Hasler) is a detailed man and this is a really big run we needed to go on," he said.

"What Des has put into play with our defence it's really come to fruition lately and I'm glad it has because our coaches put in so much work every day and it's just a credit to them and obviously us putting in the work as well."

Another key factor behind the Titans' rich vein of form is their revamp of their hooker rotation - with coach Hasler moving Sam Verrills to hooker, Chris Randall to lock and Clark to prop, adding mobility to the Titans' pack.

The 87-gamer is enjoying the challenge of playing in the middle and believes Des Hasler has helped him play his best footy for the squad.

"I'm enjoying it. Whatever position I've got on my back I'll have a go, I'll definitely give it my all-whatever position I play," Clark said.

"He [Des] is really detailed, we have video every day and it's working wonders in my game, it's got the best out of me and I'm actually enjoying my footy."

One of the most important cogs behind the Coast's winning streak is the influence of their skipper Kieran Foran, who seems to be defeating father time after recently signing on for his 17th season in 2025.

"He's something else," Clark said.

"He's someone who's done it all but he's just getting better. The older he gets he's getting better and the last few weeks it baffles me seeing the way he plays.

"The way he speaks like when he talks everyone listens; he's that type of person.

"You can tell that he's emotionally connected to the team and before we run out he always says something and whenever he talks I'm like I'll play for this fella."

The Titans will be looking to win their fourth straight game as Foran and Hasler visit their former side the Manly Sea Eagles at 4 Pines Park on Sunday afternoon.
