Evania Pelite has been busy on the phones this week helping sell-out Cbus Super Stadium... now she wants to set a new NRLW record in the process.
Part of the Gold Coast's membership and ticketing team as well as starring as the Titans' fullback, it's been a busy week on and off the field after playing a part in helping put the full house sign up at home for this weekend.
Now Pelite wants to reap the rewards of her off-field work and has a new target in her sights with the bumper crowd to roll-in - calling on the Legion to help break the club's NRLW's highest attended game record.
"There's been a lot of excitement particularly coming off two wins on the weekend for both our NRL and NRLW teams," she said.
"A lot of our members are really excited to come out and support our boys, but it's been really interesting being on the phones the last seven days because a lot of members are ringing up and asking if their tickets get them into the NRLW game.
"For me, being in the team and hearing that people want to come out and support our NRLW team is definitely unique, but it's nice to know that's the feeling around the Gold Coast this season.
"It's really exciting and great to have a sold out crowd, but it'll be even better if we can break a NRLW crowd record.
"I'd love to see as many members and ticket holders come early and watch our girls play before the NRL."
Topping the running metres with 218 in an impressive display in the season opener - which also included a classy four-pointer - the 29-year-old feels their Round 1 win against the Dragons was a solid start but know there is a chance to improve with plenty of excitement of what's to come.
That includes the debut of rugby sevens convert Georgia Gray, who follows a similar path to Pelite when she makes her way on the field against the Tigers this weekend.
"I’ve been really impressed with GG," she said.
"When she first came in, I knew she was a rugby sevens convert and hadn’t played a game of league before, but I watched her play the trial and she was pretty solid and I’m really excited for her to debut this weekend.
"I think she’s going to have a really success career in rugby league."
Despite the Titans backed as heavy favourites for their first of four games at home in 2024, the five-season star believes they will be eager to bounce back from their disappointing Round 1 performance, with the competition as tough as ever with its continued growth.
"I don’t think there’s going to be an easy-beats this season," Pelite said.
"I watched the Round 1 opening games of all the teams and it’s just proven that the game is getting faster."
"The girls are getting stronger and fitter so I don’t think you can rest on any laurels this season."
