Three Titans stars in running for NRL gong

Three Titans NRLW stars are up for NRL awards, acknowledging their off-field efforts.

Shannon Mato and Evania Pelite have been nominated for the Pasifika Leadership and Excellence Awards, while Jaime Chapman is a finalist in the Indigenous Leadership and Excellence Awards.

The awards are part of the NRL's Wellbeing & Education Awards, which acknowledge and celebrate the significant amount of dedication, commitment and effort NRL and NRLW players put in to their lives from the field.

The Pasifika Leadership & Excellence award recognises and celebrates current NRL and NRLW players from a Pasifika and Māori heritage who are leading the way on the field, within their club as well as the wider rugby league community.

The Indigenous Leadership & Excellence award recognises and celebrates current NRL and NRLW Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders players who are leading the way on the field and in their community.

"We are proud to have Shannon, Vani and Jaime as part of this club," Titans CEO Steve Mitchell said.

"We see their leadership qualities every day and from them and they deserve to be recognised by the NRL in this way."

"The club surprised them with their nominations recently and we know how humbled they were by this recognition."

The winners of both of the above awards, as well as the Academic Team of the Year will be announced at a special ceremony in Sydney on the 21st August.
