On the morning of the 2024 Paul Broughton Medal, the race is still wide open after a number of standout performers impressed across the season.
Last year’s winner Moeaki Fotuaika will likely be in the mix for taking out the top gong for the third time, while Gold Coast X-factors AJ Brimson and Jayden Campbell will be vying to be awarded their first Paul Broughton Medal after solid performances throughout the season.
Young gun Keano Kini is expected to gain a number of votes, notching up six tries across 16 appearances and smashing the Gold Coast’s record for most run metres in his superhuman performance back in Round 15, before breaking it again in Round 24 against the Dragons.
Forward pair Erin Clark and Chris Randall will also be serious contenders for the Medal, while former Paul Broughton Medallist Brian Kelly is expected to poll well in a number of games after his heroics earlier in the year.
Judged from a 3-2-1 vote by the coaching staff at the end of each round, it's expected to be an open contest given the number of strong showings, with the honour named after Broughton who was known as 'the godfather of Gold Coast Rugby League' for his work in establishing the Titans ahead of their inaugural season.
