The Gold Coast Titans' Leagueability program has come to a close on the back of a bumper 2024 season.
With a thriving community of 76 players (up from 73) and 23 dedicated coaches, the program continues to offer people with disabilities the chance to enjoy rugby league in an inclusive and supportive environment.
A major highlight of the year was the introduction of a Leagueability official uniform and apparel, providing all players with training and playing uniform, along with a club backpack.
The valued addition further enhanced the sense of pride and belonging among the players.
Training sessions and game days were hosted at Cbus Super Stadium, Tweed Seagulls, Labrador Oztag, Robina Raptors JRLFC, Runaway Masters, and the Alabaster Sporting Fields, ensuring players had access to high-quality facilities across the Coast.
All this training led to one of the most exciting moments of 2024 was the Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) team’s first-ever match against the South Queensland Masters, marking a significant milestone in the program’s competitive history.
Female participation also reached new heights, with five new female players joining the program, bringing the total to eight—the largest female contingent in Leagueability history.
This increase another sign of the growth of the womens game in rugby league, highlighted by the Titans' NRLW team.
Additionally, six Gold Coast Titans Physical Disability players were selected to represent Australia in a Test match against New Zealand, which will be played as the curtain raiser for the Pacific Championship in Auckland—a tremendous honour for the players and the program.
The year concluded with a celebration of the program's achievements at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday, 14th September, where over 200 people gathered for the Leagueability presentation where energy and vibes were at an all time high.
Cbus Super Stadium, and their staff, play an instrumental role in the program's success so it was fitting the event was held there.
Award winners from the presentation are below:
- PDRL Coaches Award - Kane Ridgley
- PDRL Most Improved - Tim Wesener
- IDRL Coaches Award - Tiari O'Connor
- IDRL Most Improved - Jorja Cochrane
- All Abilities Coaches Award - Matias Reffi-Golfarini

- Leagueability All Abilities Player of the Year: Christiaan Cornet

Bring on a bigger and better 2025 season!
