The Gold Coast Titans join the rugby league community in sending condolences to the family of Cleve Brown after he passed away earlier this week.

Brown was an inaugural training staff and gear steward under Titans Coach John Cartwright before officially retiring from duties with the club in 2017.

Brown was been involved in rugby league for more than 50 years, first as a player before linking with Penrith, the Burleigh Bears, and then the Titans, to help advance the game on the Coast.

A former Penrith resident, Brown played against John Cartwight’s father back in the day and linked with the Panthers as a gear steward and general helping hand around the club.

Brown received a call from Cartwright to join the Titans from their inception and was a mainstay until his retirement a decade later.
