Emerging forward Viliami Fifita will remain a Titan until 2029 after committing to begin his NRL journey on the Gold Coast.
Initially joining the club’s academy to grow and develop his skills at age 14, Fifita progressed to the Future Titans and has excelled as part of the pathways program.
Alongside impressive appearances in recent Future Titans games, the dynamic and agile front rower also had a strong season with the Tweed Seagulls in the Cyril Connell Cup whilst representing The Southport School.
Club engagement, critical stakeholders and pathways manager Paul Stephenson said Fifita’s extension is a testament to his hard-work and the club’s Future Titans program which is helping him and several other homegrown players transition to the NRL.
"Viliami is a great young player who has a bright future in the game and we’re proud he’ll continue his journey with us here at the Titans," he said.
"He has a high work ethic and is determined to continue growing as a player which we are eager to support – much like his older brother Jojo who is an integral part of our NRL program currently.
"His progression through our Future Titans pathways is a testament to that program and its development, with Viliami following in the footsteps of several other homegrown talents who have just transitioned to our NRL squad in a train-and-trial and/or full-time capacity."
Fifita will continue to be part of the Future Titans whilst still at school, before transitioning to the full-time NRL program.
