The future of women's rugby league on the Gold Coast is in good hands with the club's Future Titans program in full swing for 2025.
Now in its third year, the next crop of Under 17s and 19s hit the training facilities at Parkwood this week and were put through their paces as they aim to follow in the footsteps of many of the NRLW top squad.
Titans director of female rugby league Karyn Murphy is proud of the genuine pathways the Gold Coast is providing for the next generation of Titans NRLW talent.
"We have such a talented young group of girls coming through our catchment area and we've seen it get bigger and bigger as the program progresses," she told titans.com.au.
"With the expansion of the NRLW competition in 2025, it's really important for those girls and their families to see there is a genuine pathway here at the club and to know they don't need to leave their region to find that opportunity."
With 14 players from the Future Titans Academy forming part of the NRLW playing squad in 2024, the program is providing a successful pathway for young players to reach their dreams at the top level.
"We believe in the success of our pathways and it's definitely being reflected through the numbers we've seen progress through our Academy into the NRLW," Murphy said.
"Sarina Masaga is a perfect example of someone who has progressed really quickly through our system - going from our Under 19s Academy to making her NRLW debut in less than 12 months."
An elite pathway has also been introduced into the program in 2025, with select players given the opportunity to be provided with year-round training from the Titans coaching staff.
"When they go back to their clubs, we'll work with their coaches to continue further review and they'll also get to be involved in a few training sessions in our NRLW side," Murphy said.
"The goal is to see those players progress through Academy into the NRLW with already having a strong understanding of the culture at the Titans."
