Team-first forward Chris Randall has revealed he is happy to take on whatever role is needed for the Titans upon Tino Fa'asuamaleaui's highly-anticipated return from a ruptured ACL this week.
Having missed near-on the past 12 months with the devastating knee injury, the Gold Coast captain's presence will be welcomed back with open arms against the Dolphins, named on the bench to play in this Saturday's trial ahead of the club's season opener in just under a month.
Playing in every game of the 2024 season, Randall has been a regular starter for the Titans primarily at lock, but will happily do whatever is necessary for his side upon Fa'asuamaleaui's comeback.
"It’ll be good to have Tino back. He’s been working pretty hard and he’s a very welcomed addition to our side," he said.
"I’ll still be there through the middle and I can help out at nine, but I'll be happy to play anywhere."
Out to make amends of last week's 50-12 disappointment against the Broncos, the 29-year-old doesn't believe there's any need for panic given it was only the first hit-out of the year, but is motivated to be better in this week's major trial before the season proper.
"The scoreline in the end wasn’t very nice, but it was good to get out there and have our first run around... we’ll be better for it," Randall said.
"We were pretty disappointed. It's not to our standard and we’ve trained too hard to go out in our first game and get rolled like that. But, it’s the first trial, so we’ll take the lessons out of it and move on.
"We're now ready to dust ourselves off and go again. We’ve got a quick turnaround to get ready for the Dolphins on Saturday."
Alongside Fa'asuamaleaui, the Titans will also welcome back Jayden Campbell, Alofiana Khan-Pereira, Keano Kini and Brian Kelly who all played in the All Stars clash in Sydney last weekend.
Kick-off is at 6.30pm (QLD) on Saturday at Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe.
