Experienced enforcer Reagan Campbell-Gillard says there's no panic among the Titans group ahead of their clash against the undefeated Knights on Saturday night.
A lack of possession and several incomplete sets early in the game proved costly for Gold Coast in their season opener, but the new recruit stressed there's no cause for concern at Parkwood with the focus this week on fine-tuning where they went wrong ahead of their first appearance at Cbus Super Stadium in 2025.
"It wasn't the start we were expecting, but we're all staying positive. I would be very concerned if we didn't score any points and the team struggled, but I'm not worried one bit," Campbell-Gillard said.
"We can score points. It's now just a matter of nailing the fundamentals in terms of errors and completions.
"I think in that first 15-20 minutes, we completed four sets out of 16 or 20. It doesn't matter who you are or what team you play in, that's very hard to win a game from and it can definitely drain you physically and mentally.
"It's important we nail those fundamentals before we start scoring points.
"We didn't start well on the weekend, so that's our focus this week to nail that first 20 minutes to see what we can do and set up our 80 minutes and then we can go from there.
"I'm excited to get back home and see what all the fuss is about."

'It was a learning curve for us': Campbell-Gillard
Like all sides, the 222-gamer believes the best is yet to come for Gold Coast as they continue to build over the next few weeks, but aren't naive to the fact they also need to have a better start than last year's 0-6 beginning.
"It doesn't matter how we get it... the two points are vital and crucial to setting up your season," Campbell-Gillard said.
"It's going to take six to eight weeks before we're playing our best football; but it doesn't matter how we get the points, it's just a matter of getting it.
"We can fix the minor detail on the way."
Match: Titans v Knights
Round 3 -
home Team
Titans
9th Position
away Team
Knights
3rd Position
Venue: Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast
Looking ahead to Saturday's clash, Campbell-Gillard is eager to win the battle up front in what will be a tough hit-out against the Novocastrians, especially given the backlines that are behind both forward packs.
"The Knights are playing some very good football and from 1-17, they're strong," he said.
"As a whole, we have to be in the contest and set up the game early.
"Their back five are very dangerous, and even their halves so it's going to be a really good battle and it's our chance to really turn it around in our favour for our first home game.
"I'm sure it'll be a very good game this week."
