It was a tight battle between the Gold Coast Titans' feeder clubs in the Hostplus Cup on the weekend.
The Tweed Seagulls squared off with the Ipswich Jets at North Ipswich Reserve on Sunday afternoon and it was the home side that came out the victors 28-24.
There were eight Titans-contracted players involved in the match and in a see-sawing affair two late tries proved crucial for the Jets to take the two points.
Highlights for Titans fans include Jacob Alick-Wiencke topping the tackle count with 24, and leading the run metres, with 131.
The versatile forward is yet to don Titans first grade colours this year but continued strong performances will keep him in the eye of head coach Des Hasler.
Allan Fitzgibbon ran for 155 metres in another strong display for the Jets, after some good trial form in the top side.
For the Seagulls, Tom Weaver laid on two try assists and Tukimihia Simpkins ran for 96 metres and 19 tackles in 50 minutes as he continues to return to full fitness.
