Moeaki Fotuaika says he's pleased with the effort from his Titans side over the last two rounds, but wants to see the team get off to a better start against the Dolphins on Saturday.

The Titans prop says it hasn't been perfect over the last fortnight and there are still plenty of things to work on, but he's thrilled that the Gold Coast side has been able to notch back-to-back wins.

"We are definitely feeling a lot more confident after those two wins," he said.

"For us it is just about finding that consistency especially coming up against a desperate side like The Dolphins (this Saturday at Cbus Super Stadium).

"We are ready to go again and we are expecting a tough game again this weekend."

The Titans forward pack has started to click into gear, with the form of captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui a big talking point as he continues his return from an ACL injury.

Despite only having played three games (after the first round bye), Fa'asuamaleaui sits on 10 Dally M votes - just four behind leader Jye Gray (Rabbitohs).

"I'm not surprised because I see how hard he works at training and after training too," Fotuaika said.

"Knowing how big an ACL injury is, usually it takes players a year to get back to their best form ... Tino is a one-of-a-kind player though.

Classy from the captain

"I love playing with Tino, you feel his presence around you and you just feel safe."

After a home win against Newcastle, the Titans defeated the Sydney Roosters 30 points to 12 in round four - snapping an 11 game losing streak against the opponent.

"I thought our scramble in defence to save tries really helped us in the end and we came away with it in the last 15 minutes," Fotuaika said.

"It shows what kind of side we are this year and we want to be an effort based side and I'm glad that showed.

Campbell can't be caught

"I think defending your line set after set and it was a bit of brilliance from Jayden Campbell to get that intercept and run away with it.

"That takes the pressure off the boys and I think that helped us in the end ... a great bit of play from JC."

The Titans sit fifth on the ladder with two wins, one loss and a bye from the first four rounds, while the Dolphins are still searching for their first win of 2025.

Fotuaika says the Titans will need to continue to improve if they're to get another good result this weekend in the XXXX Derby against the Dolphins.

"There is definitely room for improvement," he said.

"Especially with our starts, the last two weeks our start hasn't been great so that is what we need to fix up this weekend especially with the longer turnaround we will have more chances to fix that up in our training."

"Being a local derby, there will be a lot of crowd out there and it'll be exciting and I can't wait."

The Titans will celebrate the NRL's Multicultural Round as part of the fixture, with Fotuaika one player in particular who is looking forward to the round.

"There are a lot of cultures in our team and it'll be great to go out there and express it," he said.

"I'm very proud of my culture, both of my parents are Tongan.

"I know the boys are very proud of their cultures."
